Volvo recommends that the protective plate is NOT fitted to cars with a combination of turbocharged gasoline engines and manual gearboxes in high-speed markets. This could cause problems with engine cooling. Not suitable for V8s (B8444S) or Diesels with AWD. A protective plate beneath the engine which protects the engine, sump and gearbox from impact when driving on poor roads, such as pot-holed or bumpy roads. The protective plate has undergone several tests to ensure durability in the event of more severe knocks and has been used by the Swedish police, without any reported problems. The plate does not create any noise and it is verified that the engine is correctly cooled. Consists of a fully covering aluminum plate which also offers protection from loose stones and stone chips.
